While new springs may not be required, you must ensure the new valve lift does not fully compress the spring. It may be necessary to shim the spring's installed height. No additional hardware is required although new spring retainers and keepers will be a good idea on high mileage engines.
Schrick recommends the reinforced valve springs and hydro pushrods for this purpose. It is essential to note that Schrick only grants warranty if new hydro tappets are also used during installation!
